Carlos graduated in Graphic Design, a Master's in Advertising, a Diploma in Animation and Character Design, a Diploma in Teaching, a Diploma in Identity, Criticism, and Culture, currently a Ph.D. student of Education.

He is the Director of CG Design Studio since 2001 and a Professor in 20 Universities since 1996. 

He won the Silver prize in Nagoya Design Do! (2002), Gold in Poster at the XII Quórum, Mexico, and Finalist cultural Poster at Triennial in Eslovaquia (2018).  

Carlos has worked as an Art Director in several advertising agencies in Mexico City and served as a Jury member at several design contests such as the 14th International Poster Biennial in Mexico. Carlos has collective and individual exhibitions in 35 countries all over the world such as Social Designers, Agitators of our conscience, Voices in Freedom, Graphic Imperative: 25 Years of International AIDS Awareness Posters 1985-2010, Eeum Design Connects, 20x20 Posters for Peace, Historic Mexican Cinema and United vs Coronavirus. His work has been published in design magazines, books, and newspapers.

In 2007 he coordinated the exhibition of Mexico and Japan: Unite for Children, Unite Against Aids and HIV.

He organized the World Design congress of Mexico Poster Biennial in 2012 at Querétaro, Mexico.

He curated the following exhibitions: Innovation in Design by Japan Kenya Hara (2010), 20x20 Posters for peace in Mexico (2018).
